My 2025 Bow Setup | Mastering with Equalized Outdoors

Updated: Nov 10

In the latest episode of Mastering with Equalized Outdoors, I'm excited to share my setup for the Mathews V3X 33 bow. As a passionate archer, I stick with gear that I trust, which has proven essential for my success both in competitions and while hunting. In this post, I will detail the key specifications, hardware choices, and tuning methods that make this bow a top contender in my lineup.

Core Specs

Let's break down the core specifications of my setup. My draw length is 31.5 inches with a draw weight of 70 pounds. This combination delivers both power and accuracy.

For arrows, I use DaySix Gear 275 HD arrows cut to 30.5 inches. These arrows are crafted for strength and precision, which is crucial for both target practice and live hunting situations. A good example of their performance is the increased penetration I experience—about 20% better than some standard arrows on the market.

When it comes to broadheads, I trust DaySix Gear Evo/Evo X 125-grain broadheads. Their design ensures a clean cut and dependable performance, which is vital for making ethical shots.

Hardware and Why

The hardware I choose for my bow setup is equally important. I’ve selected the HHA Tetra Ryz 2-Pin Bridge-Lock sight. This sight offers a clear view and allows for precise adjustments, making it easier to shoot accurately across various distances. The ability to sight in targets from 20 to 60 yards enhances my versatility.

My arrow rest of choice is the Mathews QAD UltraRest Integrate MX. It features micro-adjust capabilities and delivers consistent launching for every shot.

Stability is crucial in archery, which is why I use Catfish Customs VEC 99 strings. These strings provide exceptional stability and help maintain the bow’s performance over time.

To add to this stability, I’ve included Mathews Flatline stabilizers with a 12-inch front (weighing 2 oz) and a 10-inch rear (weighing 4 oz). This combination not only levels my pin during shots but ensures a smoother experience without slowing me down.

Equipment Overview

I utilize an Ultraview thumb button release to ensure a precise release and a consistent anchor. The bow hitch alleviates the need to "carry my bow" which makes hiking and manuvering effortless.

Final Thoughts

My 2025 Mathews V3X 33 bow setup combines reliable components with precise tuning techniques. This doesn’t just benefit seasoned archers; even beginners can find value in understanding how each element can boost their overall performance.
