Media Mission Statement
Equalized Outdoors is a multimedia news and education outlet dedicated to advancing conservation literacy, public-land access, and responsible participation in the outdoors—especially within communities historically underrepresented in the hunting and fishing space.
As an independent media organization, Equalized Outdoors delivers timely, accurate, and accessible reporting across the hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor-policy landscape. Our newsroom prioritizes truth, transparency, and the protection of those who serve—amplifying veteran voices, scrutinizing organizations that steward public resources, and holding institutions accountable when their actions fail the community.
Through digital journalism, investigative reporting, educational content, and on-the-ground storytelling, Equalized Outdoors strives to level the playing field and build an informed, empowered, and ethical outdoor community for all.
Editorial Guidelines
Editorial Independence
Equalized Outdoors maintains full editorial control over all news reporting, educational content, and investigative work. Coverage decisions are made solely by the EO editorial team and are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, brands, or outside organizations. All reporting is guided by public interest, community impact, and the ethical responsibilities of independent media.
Accuracy & Verification
Equalized Outdoors is committed to factual, evidence-based reporting. All information—including statements, data, policy details, and organizational claims—is verified through primary sources whenever possible. Reporting may include interviews, official documents, public records, FOIA requests, agency releases, scientific research, or on-the-ground observations. EO does not publish unverified allegations or anonymous claims without supporting documentation.
Corrections and Accountability
Equalized Outdoors acknowledges that accuracy is essential in journalism. If an error is identified, EO will issue corrections promptly and clearly. Corrections will be added to the appropriate article, video, or social post with transparent labeling that explains what was corrected and why. EO welcomes community feedback and encourages readers to submit correction requests via email at press@equalizedoutdoors.com.
Corrections & Transparency Policy
Equalized Outdoors is committed to accuracy, transparency, and accountability in all published work. When errors occur, EO corrects them promptly, clearly, and publicly.
How We Handle Corrections
If a factual error, misquote, or incorrect detail is identified, EO will update the content and add a labeled correction notice explaining what was changed and why. Corrections are placed at the bottom of written articles or in the description of videos and social posts so readers can see exactly what was adjusted.
How We Handle Updates
When new information becomes available—such as a statement from an organization, updated policy data, or additional verification—EO may update articles. These are labeled as “Updates” rather than “Corrections” to maintain transparency.
How to Request a Correction
Readers, organizations, and agencies are encouraged to report potential errors by emailing press@equalizedoutdoors.com with supporting information. EO reviews all requests promptly and makes corrections based on verifiable evidence.
Equalized Outdoors believes accuracy is a responsibility, not an option. Transparency and integrity are core to our mission as an independent media organization.
