Welcome back to The Brief our quick hitting industry news segment. As the state of Virginia enters week two of gun season, there's a deadline approaching.

Applications for Virginia’s Spring Turkey Quota Hunts close on November 28th. Hunters seeking a limited-entry opportunity for the 2026 spring season on Virginia public land must submit applications before the deadline.

All quota hunts are assigned through a random draw, and late submissions are not accepted.

Equalized Outdoors will continue tracking state announcements and will publish updates as additional 2026 quota deadlines are released.

Also in 2026 there will be no managed hunts at Hogs Island WMA due to security protocols. See below provided by DWR.
